Menna Elfyn
~ Y Bardd

Mae ein dyled yn fawr i Menna Elfyn gan ei bod hi wrthi'n adnewyddu ein Cymraeg trwy ei defnyddio fel offeryn sy'n llwyr atebol i gymhlethdodau bywyd yr unfed ganrif ar hugain. Mae wedi gosod ffrwydriad wrth droed clogwyn y Gymraeg gan roi defnydd i ni adeiladu hewlydd allan o'r cyfyng-gyngor moesol a gwleidyddol.

Menna Elfyn
~ The Poet

Menna Elfyn is one of the most significant poets writing in Wales. Her conspicuous moral and political commitments, international in scope, are always underwritten by her prior commitment to language. Hers is a subtle politics of parable rather than polemic, and a style in which vulnerability is the other face of daring.

She has the gift of the alchemist, a transforming eye, infusing everything she touches. Like Szymborska, her 'I' isn't transcendent or grandiose.
Vicki Bertram

Dense, elliptical, unpredictable, witty, supple, rhythmic, heterogeneous. Here is a poet discovering what she knows in the white heat of the smelting process, not recollecting her emotions for us, like Wordsworth, in tranquillity.
